About this policy

This policy covers Best Public Adjusters in Connecticut, a directory for Connecticut. The website is currently a preview directory. We operate the directory; we do not adjust insurance claims. For a privacy question or request, use the contact page.

Information you provide

The contact form asks for your name, email address, message, and an optional phone number. If you arrived from a listing, the listing name can accompany the message. A hidden company field helps reject automated spam. Only submit information needed for your inquiry; do not include Social Security numbers, payment information, medical records, or full insurance documents.

Submitting the form sends these details through the website's hosting service and Resend email delivery to the directory team's configured inbox. Your email address is used as the reply address. The form does not automatically send your message to a listed business or create an insurance claim.

Website analytics and technical information

We record page visits, selected button and external-link clicks, referring website hostnames, broad device categories, and country-level information when available. Daily analytics are stored as counts. Contact-related click records can also include a time, action type, label, and page; they are separate from the message itself.

The _ra_uid cookie helps the browser identify returning visits, and _ra_ignore in local storage remembers a tracker opt-out. The tracker does not read the values you enter in the contact form. Hosting and analytics services process technical information such as IP and browser headers to deliver requests and limit abuse. See the Cookie Policy for the storage lifetimes and opt-out controls.

How information is used and processed

Contact information is used to read and respond to inquiries, investigate listing corrections, and maintain correspondence. Analytics helps us understand traffic and use of the directory. Hosting, email delivery, the directory inbox, and our analytics service process information needed to provide those functions.

The current implementation uses Vercel for hosting, Resend for contact-form email, and Google Cloud Firestore for analytics storage. Their processing can include service logs and operational records. A first-party analytics endpoint does not mean information stays only in your browser. External businesses do not receive form submissions automatically.

Retention and security

The analytics cookie can last 365 days from its latest refresh; the opt-out preference remains until removed. Those browser lifetimes are separate from records held by the directory and its providers. This website does not currently publish a fixed retention period for contact correspondence, analytics, or provider logs.

Use the contact page to ask about records associated with an inquiry or to request deletion. We may need enough information to locate the record and confirm the request. Deleting browser storage does not remove existing email or server-side records. No internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices and privacy requests

You can browse without submitting a contact form, leave the optional phone field empty, and use the analytics opt-out described in the Cookie Policy. Blocking cookies alone does not stop analytics events.

To request access, correction, or deletion of information associated with a message, or ask about other rights that may apply where you live, send a request through the contact page. Include the email address used and approximate message date, but avoid sending identity documents unless a secure verification process has been arranged.

External websites and policy updates

Business listings and research sources can link to other websites. Those operators control their own information collection and are covered by their own policies.

We will post changes on this page and update the date above when these practices change.
